A2 Hosting review: what the hosting.com change means for buyers
A2 Hosting became hosting.com in 2025. If you are shopping under the A2 name today, the useful question is how the current platform fits your website, not how an older A2 plan looked several years ago.
A2 Hosting is now hosting.com
The company announced the A2 Hosting rebrand in April 2025. Its current service terms identify hosting.com as being operated by A2 Hosting, LLC. That connection matters because older A2 reviews can still rank in search even when their plan names and feature descriptions no longer match the current offer.
For a new buyer, hosting.com should be treated as the current product. Legacy A2 history is useful context, but the live provider information is the place to confirm what a plan includes before ordering.
What changed beyond the name
Hosting.com says the transition included infrastructure and platform work, not only new branding. Its current A2 transition material describes cloud based servers, AMD EPYC processors, NVMe storage, Anycast DNS, LiteSpeed across shared plans, security tools, and automated daily backups with restore options.
Those are provider claims, not Server Signal benchmark results. We have not run private speed tests against the current platform, so we do not turn marketing specifications into an independent performance verdict.
The hosting types worth understanding
The current company covers several levels of hosting. Shared hosting is the simpler starting point for many ordinary websites. Managed WordPress is more specialized around WordPress operations. Managed server and dedicated options are aimed at sites that need more resources, control, or operational help.
The best tier depends on the site you are running. A small service business site has a different resource profile from a busy store, an agency managing many sites, or a custom application.
Shared hosting and the old Turbo story
A2 Hosting built much of its reputation around Turbo plans. Hosting.com now says LiteSpeed is available across its shared hosting plans and describes broader infrastructure changes since the rebrand.
That is why an old comparison between basic A2 hosting and a Turbo tier can be misleading for a current purchase. Check the current plan details instead of assuming the old hierarchy still applies.
WordPress users
WordPress users can choose between general hosting and a managed WordPress product. The managed route can be attractive when you want more of the WordPress maintenance, performance, security, and platform work handled for you.

Migration and switching hosts
Hosting.com advertises migration help. Before moving a live site, confirm what the migration team will handle for your exact setup. Email, several domains, custom DNS, ecommerce, unusual server rules, and multiple applications can make a migration more involved.
Keep an independent backup and test the moved site before making a final cutover. A host assisted migration is useful, but you should still know how your site and email are being moved.
Backups and security
The provider currently describes web application firewall protection, brute force detection, malware protection, and automated daily backups with restore options on its A2 transition page.
Security still has a customer side. Strong account credentials, application updates, careful plugin choices, limited administrator access, and an independent recovery plan remain sensible even when the host provides security tooling.
Support and account management
The company says customer support remains available around the clock after the rebrand. Support quality can be difficult to judge from a feature list alone, and we have not fabricated support chats or ticket tests for this review.
If support is central to your decision, check the current contact channels and support scope for the product you are considering. Managed products can have a different responsibility boundary from ordinary shared hosting.
Who should investigate hosting.com
Hosting.com belongs on the research list for people who want a conventional hosting provider with shared hosting, WordPress options, migration help, and server products available as a site grows.
It may also appeal to existing A2 Hosting shoppers who liked the traditional hosting model but want to understand what the company became after the rebrand.
When to compare alternatives
Compare alternatives if you want a different control panel experience, a very specific cloud server setup, a host built around one application, or a different approach to managed WordPress.
